Our founders are set out to help encourage and impact the community. One of the founding values is giving back to friends, families, and other community members. Last year we have partnered with The Atlantic at Howell Station for Thanksgiving to provide to families a meal. For Christmas we supported one family and bought everyone gifts, flowers, etccc.
When most people think about the holidays, they envision spending time with family, preparing (and consuming) large meals, and enjoying a few days off from work. For many Americans, however, the holidays can be a time of intense stress, struggle, and anxiety. Some may not have access to food or clothing. Others may not have a safe place to live. For families that are struggling to make ends meet, Thanksgiving can be a race to make childcare arrangements and scrounge enough together to make a nutritious meal for their family members. For some college students, Thanksgiving break can mean being displaced from scholarship subsidy housing and forced to sleep in parks during the holiday.
This year we made a difference in our communities. We raised $645 exceeding our goal of $600 for Thanksgiving! Each family was delivered groceries worth a $300 value. For Christmas we raised nearly $500 and used that money to provide gifts for our sponosred family.
